About

Hi! I’m KC, a coach and Holistic Physical Therapist.

I help people discover authentic love for their bodies and peace of mind.

The capacity for healing, thriving, and peace is within each and everyone of us…you only need to know where to look.

My Story

For most of my life, I’ve been trying to figure out how to feel okay in my own body.

I’ve struggled with a lot of the same things my clients face: bulimia, self-worth issues, chronic back pain, digestive problems, fear around symptoms, and the exhausting pressure to keep it all together. I was always trying so hard and it still never felt like enough.

I’m a physical therapist with training in yoga, mindfulness, functional nutrition, pain science, and more. I had all the knowledge, all the tools, all the “right” things. And yet, despite all of it, my body kept hurting.

The harder I tried to fix myself, the worse the pain became.

One morning, as I unrolled my yoga mat, something inside me screamed,  “I don’t want to do these exercises!”

And for the first time, I listened.

That simple act began my return to health. I stopped forcing myself into someone else’s version of health and began following what felt true. I began my life anew, living from the wisdom in me and letting it show me the simplicity of caring for my body.

Slowly, it felt like a phone line inside me that had been disconnected for decades suddenly reconnected. I noticed the tiny things: the way my stomach twisted into knots when I had stressful thoughts, the way my body softened the instant I stopped judging myself.

Today, I don’t wake up in pain, and I don’t live in fear of my body or myself. None of those chronic issues are problems anymore and I’m truly enjoying my life.

Now, I walk with others as they do the same: quiet the noise, reconnect with their heart, and hear the wisdom their body has been offering all along.

The Professional Side (a.k.a. I tried everything)

I started out in a completely different world. I earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois. I didn’t know what I wanted, but I knew it wasn’t that.

A couple of years later, a quieter voice inside me led me to physical therapy. I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy at Northwestern University in 2010, moved to Nashville, and started my career.

Along the way, I kept studying, always hoping the next certification would finally create the relief I couldn’t find:

  • Certification in Manual Therapy (Maitland)
  • Integrative Lifestyle Medicine & Professional Yoga Therapist (Living Well Institute)
  • Acceptance & Commitment-Based Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Pain Reduction (Integrative Pain Science Institute)
  • Yoga Health Certification

My clients often say I’m the best physical therapist they’ve had.

I think what makes the real difference is how I listen. I know how the body works, but healing is about more than anatomy and physiology. I’m listening for what your body knows.

I believe that you have what you need, we’ve just been trained to look outside ourselves for the answers. We question ourselves instead of questioning authorities, while the whole time, our inner wisdom has been nudging us back to health.

Amazing and beautiful things happen when we listen to these nudges.

And when we listen to our nudges, you see the truth that You are already whole. It’s my job to help you remember.

Who I am Now

I live in Louisville, Kentucky with my husband and our son. We spend a lot of time outside gardening, biking, rock climbing, cooking, reading, creating adventures big and small. (Also: we don’t own a TV.)

I still love movement, science and learning. But more than anything, I love helping people reconnect with the part of themselves that knows how to heal.

Your body isn’t broken.

It’s been trying to get your attention.

And there’s a gentler way back to feeling at home in yourself.

If you are looking for a coach to prescribe a set of rules to follow, that’s not me.

However, if you are looking for a coach to help you uncover your own path to health and well-being, in a way that’s simple and natural, you have come to the right place.

“KC’s PT is a whole-human practice. You learn to breathe more deeply, treat yourself more kindly. If you keep coming back, the way you see and use your body will change for the better.”
