The Greatest Trick of All Time

I’ve fallen for it so many times that I’ve lost count, my guess is that you have too.

The trick has many different variations, but inevitably starts with something like this:

“I’ll be happy when….”

“I can get on with my life when….”

“I’ll finally rest and find peace when…..”

“I can love my body when….”

“I can be happy in my body when…”

“If only my kid(s) would stop doing this….”

The trick is extremely enticing and convincing. I temporarily will get drawn into the lure of some future perfect idea of my life, my body, or my health.

I’ll do all the things (albeit imperfectly) that people recommend to get the thing that I believe I need in order to be happy. I convince myself that it’s my faulty execution that’s getting in the way of my success, so I try the same thing, different things, but the results rarely change. I still look for other ways to be happier ALL THE TIME.

Until I question the premise itself.

What if I didn’t have to wait to have the thing in order to be happy?

What if I can enjoy and love my body now even though it’s not perfect or ideal?

What if I can rest and find peace even though the world outside of me doesn’t seem to be at peace or restful?

Finally the trick is unveiled and I can see through the bullsh$t. I don’t need any of those things to be happy and at peace now, and peace and happiness arrive.

That is, until I get tricked again 😉

If you are looking to find more happiness and peace in your body and in your life, I’m here to help.
